In Australia over the last few months several terrestrial broadcasters have added new channels and reallocated existing channels to different program content.
The menu option 35 to update the LIL file will add all the new channels, however a problem occurs when an existing channel is given a new name. The lil file is not updated and the wrong logo is used by SE.
This seems to be the case with SE v7.0e and also 7.1b.
The problem can be fixed by manually deleting the lil file, but it would be useful if SE could detect the changed channel name and update the LIL file accordingly.

If I understand you correctly, every SmartEPG version has this problem. The idea behind this is that you might have manually updated the lil and then the update would reset all your changes. Therefore the Update lil function only adds new channels (channel IDs to be precise) but wont touch existing ones. If the same channel ID is assigned to a new provider, then some manual work is needed or the lil needs to be deleted and rebuilt from scratch.

OK, I understand your dilemma.
Would it be possible to at least put out a warning that some values in the LIL file do not match with current channel names, and then list those discrepancies.
The current situation is that it just displays "0 channels updated" (or something like that).
Even better would be if SE asks "would you like these to be updated?"
