EPG contents being lost.

Hello,
I am having a problem with SE V6.0b (and possibly older) where some future programs "go missing"
For example, all channels are scanned one day (at 04:30) and I see 7 days programs in each channel.
The next day, I notice that data for one LCN only extends to 2 days, although the other LCNs for the same broadcaster still extend 7 days.
When I notice the problem, the built-in EPG shows the full week.
Rescanning the current transponder will generally restore the full list.
I have noticed this with two different broadcasters.
I assume either
1. the broadcaster is dropping data at that time of day, or
2. the saved EPG is corrupted.
What is the best way to check this?
I think the saved epgs are in the files named 0000_nnnnn.eit. Do you have any scripts for analysing their validity?
Edit:
I just noticed it in the same state.
For one LCN, the program list appeared to stop at 05:00 on Friday 2014-03-28, however there were also two entries on Thu 2014-04-03 from 07:00 to 08:00.
I initiated a "scan current transponder", but by mistake the current live view was on an LCN of a different broadcaster to the one showing the error.
The live display did not move off the channel, but as it went through the process of recreating the database it listed all of the .eit files.
When finished, the missing days programs had returned.
