We use a Harmony Elite and it has no number keys, only on the second screen as touch buttons. Therefore we can't reasonably use the number keys for skipping and hence I am not qualified to like or dislike this option

We also use the Harmony (naturally :-) )
and indeed you are right, those buttons in the display, not only you have to unlock the screen and scroll first to get to them. And then they are really a hit or miss, because sometimes it feels like no matter how precise you try to touch, it is regarded as a scoll to next page, instead of a button press...
So I hear you :-)

Btw. where do you find Smartskip ? I find it neither in Extensions nor in Plugins.
Edit: I found out that Smartskip is there by default, I just need to use up/down, instead of left/right.

Not completely, by accident while surfing the settings (much to learn from there), I saw that these buttons by default can jump:
1/3 = 15sec
4/6 = 60sec
7/9 = 300sec
And I just tried - they also work in timeshift mode :-)

But that's dangerous. If you think you're in timeshift mode but are already (again) at live state, the number keys switch to another channel and your timeshift is lost.
