I have been having the following problem for a while, since my last firmware upgrade. I wonder if this is a software bug.
I have a 5000PVR, two LNB's (one on Astra, the other on Hotbird. Two DiseQ switches to feed the two tuners. LNB settings is on "separated". I use a Matrix Reborn CAM, My firmware version is the TF-NPC 5.12.05 (September 05).
The problem occurs when recording (both FTA or scrabled channels): if I start recording on one channel, the recording follows my zapping. I mean, if I start to record channel 1, as soon as I move to another channel the recording changes channel, too. Time Shift is disabled.
I tried to see if it was a switch problem. I swapped the two cables (coming from the two switches) in the decorder: still the same. I thought it was an LNB problem. They both (Astra and Hotbird) work fine. I thought it was a CAM problem: the same occurs without CAM on FTA channels.
Then it has to be the decoder.... I seem to recall that the problem started when I upgraded to the last version of the firmware. Is anybody aware of this limitation? I made an internet research on that: I saw several people declaring to have similar problems, but I never saw a solution to the problem.
Please help, it is absolutely weird that I have a double tuner decoder and I cannot use its functions.
Thank you in advance

Hi slowhand and welcome to the board,
all I can tell you, it's not a general firmware bug. I change channels every day whilst recording, and I never had a broken recording as you describe it.
From your satellite configuration everything seems ok, I am assuming you use at least a twin LNB.
If your problems started with the new firmware you could try the older June firmware and see what happens.
You could also try to reset the box and reconfigure it from scratch.
Regards,
Happy

I think that problem might really be related to the settings. Sometimes when upgrading the firmware without performing a reset to factory settings and complete new service search leads to a very strange behaviour of the receiver.
You might consider securing your settings by VEGA, perform a reset to factory settings, a new service scan, and then try if the problem still exists. If everything works fine, you can start sorting the services (I know it isn't much fun, but...), otherwise you can restore the saved settings...
