TF7700 - which transfer files do I need?

My TF7700 HD PVR is showing possible signs of HD problems because it often reports 'Verifying files and folders' when it starts up. I am trying to back up my recordings to play them on my computer (a Mac). Each recording gives five files which total about 2.5GB for an hour-long programme. Their suffixes are .001, .add, .idx, .ifo and .rec. As far as I can tell, the only file that I need for computer playback is the .rec file. Can anyone confirm this please?

The .rec file is about 1.5GB; the .001 file is also big, about 500 MB, does anyone know what its use is?

By the way to play back a .rec file on my Mac, I use MPlayer OSX Extended.

Cheers

the 001,002....files are rec files too, they are the following part files.
the first ist the rec the second the 001 the third: 002.....
so, if aou want them in one file you have to merge the files together.

we have here a extra mac corner, there you can find a player or somebody can help you.

welcome on board :)

Thanks for all this. I assume that I can throw the .add, .idx and .ifo files away?

Cheers
