Astra1 and Astra3 on the TF5510PVR

I lately installed a DUO LNB to support the receiving of the ASTRA1(19,5) and the ASTRA3(23,5) satelite at the same time with 1 disk and 1 cable.
I also purchased a TF5510PVR because I would like to look to one channel and record at the same time (solution: twin reciever and PVR) an other channel.
I have installed a CI from CanalDigitaal with a valid subcription smartcard.
I do receive all ASTRA1 channels.
At this time I still have not been able to access the ASTR3 (I do not recieve any channel).
Is there anyone who can help me???

You will probably need DiSEqC 1.0: 1 of 4 for Astra 1 and DiSEqC 1.0: 2 of 4 for Astra 3. All other DiSEqC settings should be off. Depending on whether you have loop-through or separate connections, you can have a look here or here for a (German) configuration guide (just replace Hotbird with Astra 3). If there is no satellite named Astra 3 in your list, it may still be named Kopernikus. Make sure you switch on Network Search when running the automatic search. Afterwards, you should copy the channel list to the other tuner.

Indeed I loop through tuner 1 to tuner 2.
Thank you for the information on watchhing and recording at the same time; I did not know that!
I will try at once your suggestions on LNB settings. The problem should be somewhere in the settings and the TOPF afterall, because my old tuner (Pace Platinum) is working quit well with the antenne/Duo LNB combination I have installed; Astra 1 and Astra 3 are well in reach and I can watch the channels as if they where provided by one satelite only!!
So....... I hope things are going to work now..!!

I forgot something to mention; of course I have tried to select Astra3 from the satelite drop-down box when specifing LNB settings. The selection is possible, but at the same time (when I change LNB settings from the Astra 1 to Astra 3) I do lose Transmission/Receive quality COMPLETALY ( 0 %). Perhaps a stupid suggestion from someone new in town...! But because the Pace is working quit well, is it possible that there is somekind of a frequency/band setting problem somewhere??

You should nevertheless be able to run the automatic channel search successfully, if your DiSEqC settings are correct.

This was an exiting day!! Your suggestions where quit promising so I tried them immediately this afternoon. But whatever I did; no result!! The ASTRA 3 satellite is not received (quality 0%). I followed exactly your suggestions and I also tried to reach the ASTRA 3 by entering MANUALLY the freq. etc. I also searched with network search ON.
Still no success!! What a disappointment!! The more when you consider that everything is still working quit well on the old decoder Pace Platinum.
As I thought never the less that the fold was in my antenna/dish/LNB combination, I paid a visit to my neighbour, where I had installed yesterday successfully the same DUO LNB (monoblock) from CanalDigitaal. On the receiver/dish combination of my neighbour everything is working well. And when I installed on that dish/LNB-combination my new TF5510PVR, I had the feeling that everything would be alright. But surprise…… the same result as at home. I was flabbergasted and very puzzled!! The only thing what rested was to communicate with the supplier. This late afternoon I visited the supplier. He tested my receiver on his dish/LNB combination( I do not know what it was!!). Surprise…..everything worked well. Using the same installation protocol what I received from you. So the problem was not inside the TF5510PVR!! I went home with a receiver, which was pre-installed with Astra 1 and Astra 3 data!. And I had in my pocket a spare DUO LNB twin because we thought that the problem was inside the LNB even knowing that everything works well on the old receivers.
After re-installing the TF5510PVR at home, I found out that the problem was still there. In the LNB setting menu still 0% quality. But as I left the supplier with pre-installed Astra 3 channels, I opened the channel list and was curious what to find there. And I found (of course, pre-installed by supplier) the channels from Astra 3 in that list!
When I pressed OK on one of those channels, I got a good picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once again; I was flabbergasted. And when I opened the LNB setting menu on Astra 3, I found a good Diseq 1.0 setting and 99% quality. But it disappears (0% quality) when I switched in the menu from Astra 3 to Astra 1 and back to Astra 3. And it comes back after opening a channel list and selecting and watching a Astra 3 channel!! And so on, and so on….
I was hopeful again. I do not know why, but never the less!!! So I started to install the spare LNB, thinking that the problem should be solved. But NO RESULT!! It was just as I had not done anything to the LNB or to the system!! I even lost the possibility to watch Astra 3 (as described before) via the channel list (pre-installed) action completely.
So I am back where I started this morning.
I do have the feeling (do not ask me why) that my TF5510PVR (working properly basically) is not able to work together with the specific MONOblock (position 25,5 Astra 3) I have installed/purchased. BTW, my TOPF firmware version is 15.13.59.
I rest my case!!! The only thing is left to me is hope and pray and hopefully a last suggestion from you, mr. mvordeme.

Hi Bert,

instead of DiSEqC 1.0 1 of 4 and 2 of 4 you could try Mini A and Mini B, but I am not that great of an expert when it comes to LNBs. Maybe if you can post the make and model of your LNB, there will be someone else who knows a bit more about the specifics. The only problem appears to be that they are somewhat reluctant to answer English posts - unless I am writing total nonsense and require correction...

Es hat endlich geklappt!!
Gestern Nacht habe ich nochmals nachgedacht wie das sein konnte das nach besuch an der Lieferant alles OK wahr. Und ich habe erfunden (???) das wenn man ins LNB settings menu hin und her schaltet von Astra 1 nach Astra 3 die werte ins Sendersuchlauf menu nach default zurückgeschaltet werden. Und das seht man nicht gleich ins LNB settingsmenu; nur die Kwaliteit wird 0% (keine grune Fahne mehr).

Ich habe erfunden das man eine sehr gute Reihenfolge muss anhalten beim LNB einstellen und durchfuhren der Sender durchlauf Vorgang. Ich habe es ausgeschrieben basiert auf der Text von der Site der sie mir angeraten haben (Ihren erste Antwort).

Astra1 (19,2) und Astra3 (23,5) - ein Sat-Kabel an Tuner 1
Diese Einstellungen gelten für folgende Empfangsanlagen:
• Monoblock-LNB mit einem Sat-Kabel zum Receiver
Ein kurzes Sat-Kabel muss an der Rückseite des Receivers die Buchsen "IF 1 OUT" mit "LNB 2 IN" verbinden.
ACHTUNG!! Die Einstellungs-Aktionen sollten IMMER in die beschriebene Reihenfolge abgelaufen werden. Wenn man das nicht tut ( hin und her schalten von LNB settings menu nach Sender suchen menu) werden eherne Einstellungswerten wieder überschrieben mit default Werten.

Erst Hauptmenu, dann Installationmenu, dann LNB settingsmenu,

• Name des Satelliten: Astra (1)
• Tunerauswahl: Tuner 2
• Verbindungsart: durchschleifen
• Tunerauswahl: Tuner 1
• (Verbindungsart: bleibt durchschleifen)
• LNB-Frequenz: 9750/10600 (selten auch 9750/10700)
• LNB-Spannung: An
• DiSEqC 1.0: 1 of 4
• DiSEqC 1.1: ausschalten
• Kanalsuchlauf wählen ( =Kanalsuchlauf menu)
• Netzwerksuche: An
• Kanalsuchlauf durchführen

Zuruck nach LNB settingmenu

• Name des Satelliten: Astra3
• Tunerauswahl: Tuner 2
• Verbindungsart: durchschleifen
• Tunerauswahl: Tuner 1
• (Verbindungsart: bleibt durchschleifen)

Somehow, I did not realize that this could be a potential problem.

[/quote]I am not sure what this is good for except for bringing back the quality and level indicators. Are you sure that the automatic search does not work properly unless you found one channel manually?

But never mind. As long as it now works for you, everything is fine. I am happy that I was able to give a little help.
