Hi there - first time on the board.

I'm a uk tf5800 toppy user. I was hoping to run your tap and I downloaded the UK version and put it on the Topfield. I executed the tap and it appeared to load ok.

I can't work out which key should bring up the menus - in the German manual it says the teletext key. So I disabled interactive services and tried this key but the tap does not respond. I tried all the keys on my remote without success.

I'd be grateful for any assistance you can provide.

Thank you.

I have this in my quictimer.ini file:

Hotkey1=65536
Hotkey2=65536
Hotkey3=0

That brings up QT after pressing "0" (zero) twice.
Maybe that will work on your 5800.

Hello,
as we know unfortunately some users have these problems with their settings. with other settings it normally works. Sometimes it helps also to use an ini file from another one.
But I don't have any settings for 5800 toppy. I could send you my ini file. When you would like to have it, please sent a mail to support@quicktimer.org
Thanks, Enrico

Thanks for your help. I edited the ini file and all is ok now. The original ini file is configured up for a button we don't have on the UK remote.

Anyway, this is a very nice tap and is working very well.
I thought you might like a few comments. Apologies if some of this has been covered on the other forums.

On the timer menu, the text 'incl pre/after record' goes off the edge of the screen - you could replace this with 'incl. padding' which might fit better.

I'm not sure what the yellow button does - at bottom of screen it says 'change checking ti...' I've pressed the button and it doesn't seem to do anything

I think it's unnecessary to have the word 'clock' appear - just displaying the start and finish times is enough, and would leave some more space for the programme title.

I can't access the help window - pressing 'sat' has no effect.

The free space bar at the bottom of the page flickers and is a red/pink colour irrespective of what option I set in the menu.

On the channel list at the bottom it says next to the sat icon 'without h...' - I've tried changing the menu options but I can't remove this text.

I'm very impressed with this tap and look forward to future versions. Also, I wonder if an English handbook will be available soon?

Best wishes,
Hopgettyhog.

Thanks for your comment's.
We'll have a look on it. It will help getting better translations than a german can do ;)

An english handbook won't be available soon.
At this time it's not even planned. We don't have time to translate the whole handbook.
But perhaps there will be an english and german speaking user who would like to do this? ;)

the yellow button changes the time period for checking timer/available space on hard disk to record them. according to the time period which is adjusted there will be shown some warning flags (green, yellow, red triangles)
so when you have enough space or less timer you won't see any changes on the screen while pressing the yellow button

there won't be appear a seperate help windwo. only the symbols in the bottom line changes, dont they?

What kind of tv do you have? LCD?
Are you using the QuickTimer Style or the Improbox Style?
If it's the Improbox Style, what is selected in the menu at kind of tv?

it means "without help" and this means that the bottom line will be smaller without help. Pressing the sat button changes the view and an additional line with a help regarding the button allocation appears.

in case you didn't read it: we are working on an EPG part for QuickTimer ;)

Thank you for your replies.

I understand now about the yellow button - do you think you could change the text next to it as it doesn't fit on the menu ? - maybe from 'change checking time' to 'change check time'.

The problem with the help is that we don't have a button which says 'sat' on it - so it doesn't work in the timer screen or the channel list.

I tried both options for type of TV and I still got the flickering free space bar- actually the first of these is still in German (the only bit that hadn't been translated) but I assumed it was for a CRT TV which is what I have.

By the way, I'm using the improbox version - I have improbox installed and it works perfectly with the improbox channel logos I already had loaded.

As for a handbook, I find the tap easy to understand so I think it's not really necessary.

Keep up the good work,

Hogettyhog.

@hogettyhog
We are very interesting to get feedback from a 5800 user. If you like you can contact me via pn with your email adress. We are looking for a user that can check the tap on a 5800 model. Then I can change all text problems you may have, too.
