using topfield 6060 ci with vega 2.33 and windows vista

Hopefully someone inhere will be able to help me out.


i've just installed the newest version of vega, ver. 2.33 on a windows vista ultimate pc. I've connected my tf6060 to my pc using a nul-modem kable, and a usb-to-serial converter.

I've tryed uploading my channel list in the exact same way as i did when I ran the programme on my xp-machine. Everything runs smoothly at first. I run the upload to stb dialogue, and I get the following message: "waiting for request, please reboot the set top box".


Well, when i do this, absolutly nothing happens, it just sits there giving the same message about rebooding the reciever, even though I've alreddy done so!

can anyone please help out? what could be causing this? something to do with vista perhaps?

I assume you already use the quite new Topfield driver tfbulk.sys for Vista as it is available on Topfield's Korean Homepage. The old XP driver won't work.

Then one thing I can think of now is that the driver for your RS232 to USB converter is not compatible with Vista. Have you got the change to test other equipment with this?

Another thing that has happened in the past was that the RS232 to USB converter automatically ran on COM4 or COM12 or whatever while vega could only use COM1 or COM2. Is this the case? Then the converter must be set to COM1 or 2 in the driver manually.

This are just some hints since really findung out the error does not seem to be an easy task from here.

I simply just downloaded the vega2.33 programme as a zip file and extracted it like always. I saw something refering to a driver that should be installed, however I was unable to locate the driver, or the instructions on how to install it probablly.

Any help finding this will be greatly apprishiated.

Extract, click right on tfbulk.inf and choose "Install".

Thanks for providing the driver.

i've now downloaded the zip file. I've extracted it without problems, however when I click on the tfbulck file and choose install, I am getting the following error message: "Installation failed. This driver is not supported by this installation method".

OK, then you must ask someone with enough Vista knowledge how to install the driver...

I am still having this annoying vista-problem. It is really frustrating not being able to edit my channels. I've now tryed the newer vega-34, but it is stil the same.

Still no ideas, anyone??

Try to use TopSet instead of vega, it also supports the 6060CI. But on the other hand, it uses the same driver....

I really cant explain what I did, but suddenly it worked! I can now edit all of my astra-channels using vega! Thanks for the asistance.
