Verifying files with WD 1TB

#1

Beitrag von monyj » Do 1. Jan 2009, 13:45

Hi , i have installed the HDD support firmare a few month ago (7.00.93) but unfortunately several times I had situations where I had problems with my receiver (power outage, etc) and when the received was powered on I got a message "Verifying files" which takes a few minutes but the receiver had never recovered the files and I had to reformat. is the new FW going to solve any recovery problems on failures so the data will not be lost ?? and another question can someone remide me the Pin code for the save restore ?? Thanks Mony

The PIN is 2606

You must NOT format the drive if the receiver ist verifing the files, attach the drive to your PC and then execute in the black DOS box chkdsk /f

If the power fails, and the receiver is accessing the drive, you will allways get this problem.

what a mess. srsly
the device has to have error recovery by itself.

not everyone has a windows pc..

pathetic tbh..

A Topfield without a PC is a nightmare... you have to consider to format your harddisk every 2-3days... when Topfield encounters a problem with your hardfile (verifying...).

Alternative for those without a PC: use a couple of USB-Sticks (8GB... 16GB)... then you won't loose much in case you have to format one of them... :D
