My test files (Diamantenfieber and Lost in Translation) have been processed completely and are playable from usb-drive, usb-stick and internal drive with mp2 sound.

Hopefully the ac3 sound will come.

I used a VOB-file from a DVD and made a TS with ProjectX (Tf-5000Header). When I played this from USB-drive I had no picture but sound (ac3) and when I played from HDD I have had a picture but no sound. Next I made a mp2 from the ac3 and the movi was playable from USB and HDD successfuly. You could see the same with original Tf-movie file.

Thomas

New Beta version available. Several things fixed. The PCR and Video PIDs was mixed up. AC-3 track now the default one. I have not get it to work to select audio track during play (press the speaker-question mark button). However it turns out that this is not even possible for recordings copied from the internal hdd to the USB, i.e. records made in the box. So this seems to be a bug in the box.

A new switch is added to the program, /L. This make it possible to select which audio track that should be selected, if several are available. You might want to add /Ldeu on the command line.

PS. I have not tested this on many files yet, but I get the one which failed before to pass. Please, let me know if you still have any problems.

That is definitely a firmware bug

Thank you for bug fixing. My test file now runs with ac3 sound.
Next days I will convert some more files and let you know if I have any trouble.

Another question:
Are you able to develop a similar tool for the 7700 HSCI and a tool to convert between HDPVR and HSCI and vice versa?

Yesterday I watched a movie with one PCM audiotrack and it worked perfect. It was converted from a Topfield 5000 recording. Next I will try a movie with one AC-3 track.

Thank you for this great tool. :D :

New release version available, it should work the same as the latest beta.

Concerning the HSCI, I don't have that receiver. I thought it was the same as the HD, but without one tuner and hdd. However if it saves a ts file, it would be possible to use the current application. The application actually does not use any information from the 5000 rec file header. It uses info from the Program Map Table (PMT), found in the program map section TS packets. For example you can use ts files from 7700HD, i.e. the rec, 001 and 002 files. First combined them to one file, like:
copy /B file.rec+file.001+file.002 file.ts
Zuletzt geändert von Top4 am Fr 18. Apr 2008, 11:19, insgesamt 1-mal geändert.
Grund: Added the /B switch to the copy command.

The HSCI uses the same files types as the HD PVR, but they aren't compatible.
If you need a HSCI recording then I could send you one or upload it to rapid share.

TF5000 to TF7700 works very well. Only exception is: if the file has 2 or more tracks. But 2 tracks is not necessary. So the tool is perfect.
Thank you again for it. :D

I have no problems with two tracks if I copy the converted files to the internal disk. Due to a firmware bug you can't select an audio track of recordings on an usb device.

Thanks, for all thanks!

Have anybody tested with the files from HSCI?
Combine the big files to one (copy /B file.rec+file.001+file.002 file.ts) and when run RecToTS.
Please, note the /B switch to the copy command. Missed that earlier in this thread, sorry. It's little strange but if the + command is used, the copy command default to ascii mode. Which it also do if you copy to lpt or com ports (atleast long time ago).

PS. A comment to schwallobert; You might not need the 'ProjectX (TFHeader)' step in your conversion chain.

I first tried it without using ProjectX (TFHeader) and failed. I will try again this evening.

Edit: Tried again. Fully functional without using ProjectX. Great!

The converted files from 5x00PVR doesn't work on HSCI.

But it's no problem of your tool, files from HDPVR doesn't work on HSCI too.

I think, there is a difference between the *.add, *.idx and *.ifo files from HSCI and HDPVR.

A second difference exists between the two firmwares 7.00.72 and 7.00.82 (HSCI),
recorded files with .82 are playable with .72, but not in the other direction (.72 -> .82) ...

... but it would be great, if you are able to integrate HSCI support in your tool :hello: .

Tell us what you need ... you will get it :D .

I thought about playing files from HSCI on HDPVR, after conversion with my tool.

The intention with my tool is as a help for new HDPVR users. Make it possible to play files from there old box.

NoIdOr: Sorry, I didn't recognize stream type 81 as a known one. I had print info about it (AC-3), so something about it was in the source code. Well rapid developed application... Now 81 have been added as known type. New release up on the page.

PS. This should have been a good point to run without the "only known PIDs" switch, but this is not possible in combination with creating the 7700HD files. Well, maybe I will fix this also in the future.
