TF7700 + Multytenne -> BBC

Beitrag von JacobH » Mo 25. Mai 2009, 10:47

Hello All,

I have a TF7700 HDPVR (.34) + 45cm Multytenne (canaal digitaal tripple sat) + powercam pro 2.03.

All channels that have be viewed with my card are ok. But when I switch to BBC or more4, channel4. I have the problem that signal drops and thus getting macro block errors or a black screen. My signal levels for the BBC are very good.
I double checked the allignment of the dish which seems to be ok. The problems occur always independant of weather.

What I see is that from the 2 bars signal and quality that the lowest dissapears completely.

Can you tell me how I can solved this ? is it something with the topfield (firmware) or the powercam pro or still the dish ?

My multytenne has 3 lnb's for astra only 19 23 and 28.

Best regards,
Jacob

Still problems and no reactions :-(

Is there a way that I can see the BER value for the BBC channels using my TF7700 ?

best regards,

Jacob

Hi,

The problem with your Multitenne is probably that the dish is too small. In order to receive BBC and the other UK channels you will need at least a 60 or 80 cm dish.
Good luck,

Franz :bye2:

Depends on your location.
If you are in the U.K. 45cm would be okay.
Outside of the U.K. 45cm could be to small.

And the firmware .34 sucks.
Try using the .26 or .24!

Interesting... ;)

So why do you think does Technisat sell these dishes here in Germany, advertising them as being capable of receiving Astra 19.2, 23.5, 28.2 and Hotbird? :D

As a matter of fact, the 45cm Multytenne Dish works perfectly fine for receiving Astra 28.2/BBC. as long as you don't live too far in the eastern part of Germany. I live nearby Frankfurt/Main and have no problems with this dish. Of course, it will depend on the tuner sensitivity as well, but for the TF7700HDPVR, I can state that it works for me very well.

Due to the small size of the dish, it is required to adjust it very very precisely, definitely more precise than any "normal size" dish. Unlike with other, Multi-LNB dishes, this dish should be adjusted towards the satellite position that is the most far away one (normally this would be Astra 28.2), with the other 3 satellite positions squinting.

Hello,

i wrote "could be" to small.
And because you didn't state your location in your first post, what else could a say ? :u:
It all depends on your location and if you want receiption in bad weather.

Hello,

I live in the middle part of the Netherlands. When I look at the signal level strength
for the BBC they are between 76% and 82%. I think for about 75% of the time I have a stable image on BBC and BBC HD.

But what is happing is that on the evenings the image drops and that the quality bar
goes to zero and comes right back again. Most of the times a minor glitch and sometimes
black screen. Independent of the weather the problem is there with rain but also with clear blue sky.

I hope/think it is still allignment of the dish ?

The .34 firmware is working without any problems, no reset, all timers working.
The only thing is not a working EPG, only now and next

I think the wall mount of the dish must be absolutely vertical. Otherwise the left and right LNB would be out of focus and have a low signal strength. I would check with a water level first.
Regards from Hamburg, with perfect BBC reception.

No it's not. Basically, BBC HD is the only station I care about on Astra. 28.2, and it works perfectly fine with the Multytenne.

Could you give me an indication of your signal levels ? Or is isn't that giving me any information.

Sorry but that wouldn't make sence, because I have a 60 and a 90 cm dish here at home. But I know from my holiday/camping dish that it's very important to have it vertically aligned. Otherwise I have to move one of my 2 LNBs up or down. The one which is out of the dish-focus. Therefore I thought this could be an issue to think about.

Don't give up.
Henry
