A beta of Version 1.3 is now available.

Release Notes

Feature: German Translation
Change: don’t show splash screen when stirf auto-loads on startup
Change: removed spaces either side of hyphen in available show names when adding subtitle to title, requested by scott-c. good idea.
Fix: the way Stirf counted .rec files was wrong, should be able to show a full 40 files (when available) now.
Fix (maybe): added another check to ensure EPG data has the correct channel when logged by the auto rec EPG fix module. Some users reported EPG data from other channels creeping into their files – I can’t work out how this would happen (barring an incorrect return from the API) so I added this check in a fit of desperation.
Feature added by Till (‘Happy’): epg fix and auto rename can now be used independently
Feature added by Till (‘Happy’): fixed manual mode for German firmware (new folders are called "GRUPPE 01")
Feature added by Till (‘Happy’): GMT offset now chosen automatically, using source from Firebird's GMT Bug workaround. I found this didn’t work on my machine so if the Firebird thing returns zero, stirf will just use the ini file like before. Yes I realise this essentially disables it for people in the UK… sorry.
Feature added by Till (‘Happy’): trap illegal characters now also deletes binary characters from filenames while renaming
Feature added by Till (‘Happy’): file renaming with double titles are avoided
Feature added by Till (‘Happy'): 5200c headers supported
Feature: now if there are two programs in the one .rec file (as judged by file length and EPG data), then if there is space in the extended info section both programs’ EPG info will be combined in the extended info section of the .rec file. I know some people won’t like this so I will make it an option later.

I know some people won’t like this so I will make it an option later.

Especially this new feature sounds very good.

Will try this version later on this weekend.

on my TF5000 (German with latest 2007-FW) this beta causes the system to freeze right after it shows the completion popup of stirf...

I have the same problem.


And the new feature with two EPG information in the header doesn´t work at me. I tried it 3 times with one timer over 2 event (begins 2 minutes earlyer, and ends 15minutes after second event). Every time I had only the information of the first event in the header.

i have not changed the "combine two programs EPG" part - it works for me! i will look at this and see if i can make it work for you too. +2min/+15min should be perfect for this. the combined information should show up only in the extended info area - did you look there too? if you look at a .rec file using manual stirf screen, is there information available for both the main and the next event?

yes, i think happy made his version ignore the exit key. in australia we use exit for TAP menus all the time. i could make this an option in the menu, to ignore or not ignore?

You can use StopExit until Mike have built in this option.

Works perfect for me and is a good workaround.

Nein, Eurostirf ist eine von Happy modifizierte Version, Stirf das Original von Mike.

Es gibt nur kleine Unterschiede, wobei die neue Version von Mike mit einigen neuen Funktionen noch im beta Stadium ist.

Bis auf das Entfernen der Exit Taste, was aber einstellbar wird, ist alles von Mike übernommen worden.

Perhaps you have only check this feature with filer tap, this is not working!

Take a look at the original filer or the 3PG filer, there it is workin well.

Hi Steven,

that´s it. I only checked it with the TAP "filer".
Now i will try it with 2 new timers this night. Tomorrow i will tell you the result.
