My TF4000 wishlist

Hi everybody,

as the topic is in English, let me write my wishlist in English too. It is about my TF4000. Not sure, if some of those topics are solved with later devices, or have been mentioned elsewhere. See it as a voice of the customer...

1) after power fail, obtain date & time automatically. So a later timer event won´t be lost. (Have seen this already, so it seems to be a valid wish)

2) limit standby power under 1 Watt in future models. It is possible and should not cost more than +2 Eur production cost. Devices with high standby power might not be accepted in future in Germany.

3) Shortly after switching on, when hard disk not yet ready: display some feedback like a countdown, sand watch or message "waiting HDD" when for example the red menu or record button is being pressed.

4) Have a basic setting for EPG programming: enlarge recording by x minutes before, y minutes after as default programming start/stop time. With "auto-disable-if-overlap-to-next-recording" functionality. I know it can be done by second record press, but as I do this each time, I´d like to have it automated.

5) In record menu, if you define recording time: please also display end time (I´m too lazy to calculate it in my head...). Try to predict, if free HDD space is sufficient. If not, display a warning.

6) As I only use x10 fast-forward, I´d like to select this one as default. pressing fast forward 3 times is nerdy. Often, you press one too often reaching normal speed again, or one key press is not acknowledged and you have 5x only.

7) a button "1 minute forward" would help to skip commercials

8) How about alphabetic entry organized as SMS ? Many people would be faster with this method

9) cutting out pieces of recording is not quite user friendly. Try to improve the command sequence. If trying to cut out a piece until end, it does not work at all.

10) EPG menu: if EPG info is not fully loaded, it can happen, that user programs "Tagesschau" of next day, not today. How about background colour coding: green=this day, yellow=next day.

When no bookmark is defined, the yellow button should jump about 30 seconds forward.

And for the rest: I do not think that Topfield will focus on TF4000 firmware anymore.

This should work if the firmware is up to date.
