The procedure is correct. It seems that the CAM isn’t fast enough to decode the DVB data stream.

@ subbe67:

Just for curiosity: Sky italia works on a Topfield 5000/5500?
What CAM are you using? I thought it is impossible to buy CAM modules for Videoguard :thinker:
Kabelbetreiber: KDG (Ausbaugebiet Berlin - 862 MHz)
Abos: Premiere Komplett und KDG Home
TAPs: Improbox, PIP, Jag's EPG

is the first time i hear for this possibility .. i use a dragon 4.1 cam and the zapping on the cahnnel is normally fast and also to see the channel is ok ! may be a hard disk problem or same setting wrong ??

thank you

Of course because the hardware is o.k. But if you copy a REC with 4x speed, two things happen. The CAM has to decode 4x of the data it normally has to and there is another timing problem.

Whenever the control word (CW) is changed (I don’t know how often Sky Italia is doing that, but normally at least every minute), they send an ECM to inform the CAM about the new key. But this ECM is also crypted and the Smart Card needs to decrypt the ECM and calculate the new CW. This takes some time. Therefore the provider sends the ECM, waits some seconds and then starts to encode the audio and video streams with the new CW. While you’re copying, the SmartCard only has 1/4th of the time to calculate the new CW and this might be too short.

i understand ! i dont think is a CW/DW problem because this happen also for recording that i ha made few minute before.. but my be for the nds decodifing that make more work for the cam ...
there is nothing i can try to do ?

The easiest way would be to record a non-encrypted file, so later you won't have the problems with encrypting by copying the file. Just program the recording at the same tuner as the active tuner, don't play with the Topfiled while recording and everything is fine.
