I am about to change firmware to solve some problems unrelated to SmartEPG. Is there anything I should do before installing the firmware? Will I lose all my timers or searches?

If you don't do a Factory Reset the Timers should be kept - but even if they get lost: just start a new search with SE by pressing "record" on the search page.
The Searches in SE are not affected by a change of Firmware.
SRP 2410M FW 10.01.2013 FastSkip, SmartEPG, RebuildNav, ND_TMS, Timerdiags, SmartFiler_TMS, lost+found, SmartDecrypter, TMSRemote
TMS , 2410 M SE stille Reserve
SRP 2410 FW 02/13 FastSkip, SmartEPG, RebuildNav, ND_TMS, Timerdiags, dbFit, SmartFiler_TMS
Der Fehler sitzt zwar meist vor dem Bildschirm, aber

Thanks, Wolfman. Don't I have to do a factory reset before changing firmware? This advice seems to say so:

I must confess that I did not read the australian Suggestions ;)

But as I wrote - simply press "record" on the search page (6) and the timers should be rebuilt.

You are right - but I was writing this on my smartphone and don't ask me where I was sitting at that time :D
Oh... and usually I have no manual timers, so I forgot ;)

Sadly, this does not work. Pressing "record" on that screen briefly shows a progress bar to search for items, but leaves me with nothing in my reservations list.

EDIT: I had to edit each timer, make a small change to it (like changing the time by a minute) and resave it. Every timer does come from a search, but that was a good point, Twilight.
CHANNEL NUMBERS: How do I assign logical channel numbers to match The station IDs that the Topfield (and other devices) assign to each station? At the moment, anything related to SmartEPG is, for example, identifying Eleven as being on channel 9, because that is where it appears sequentially. However, I switch to the same station by typing "11". I would like them to match. I tried changing a setting (though I cannot recall which one) between "channel number" and "LCN," but it seemed to make no difference.
I have finally had some time to follow up this question. I am attaching two pictures. (I had to take photos, as I cannot find a way to take a screen shot of a menu).

1) The first picture is my Topfield's native file list, using the LCNs it has assigned. You can see that there are gaps in the channel numbers; SBS is on channel 3, and SC10 is on channel 5, with no channel 4 in between. There is another gap where channel 13 is missing. These are the familiar assignments of channel numbers to TV stations, which my wife understands.

2) The second picture is SmartEPG's channel assignments in the channel list. As you can see, it numbers the channels sequentially, with no gaps, so instead of SC10 being on Channel 5 as it should be, it is on Channel 4. This is how the numbers appear in SmartEPG searches, but not in the timer list. The difference is very confusing to my wife.

What I would like is a way to make SmartEPG's assignments match the local broadcasters' LCNs.

By the way, if anyone knows of screenshot software that will capture menus, I would appreciate that advice, too.

Keith, what is your Setup - Look & Feel (30) - Channel sorting (3) setting? Is it set to LCN?

It is currently set to "Original," but I have also tried "Name" and "LCN" with no difference.

It should be set to LCN but I can't rule out that there are still some lists which display the position of the channel in the list instead of its LCN. I’ll take a look at it.

Hi. I have installed the recent update to SmartEPG. It is very nice to have the LCNs matching the channel list now, but I have had a few other problems:

1) When I restrict the search for a show to a certain day or days, the search still creates timers for ALL days that the show is on. For example, I have one set for only SAT SUN, but the show records when it airs on Thursday. This was working properly in the older version.

2) The "No" option for the "Allow Combine" feature shows, but the other options are invisible--just blank fields. I cannot tell if it is set to "all shows" or "same series."

3) The guide (option 3, I think) still shows sequential numbers for each channel rather than the LCN.

1) What's the "Recording mode" of the search?

2) Did you update via TAPtoDate? If not, did you also copy the .lng file into the Settings/SmartEPG folder?

3) Could you please post screen shots?

1) It is set to "Series (Repeat-Same Channel). This is what I have always used before. It has automatically stopped the PVR from recording repeated broadcasts throughout the week. However, they now seem to be recording even if they are repeats with exactly the same title and description. When I set it to "Series," the problem I reported about recording on the wrong day is fixed, but the PVR still picks up any repeats throughout the week.

2) I was following instructions I misunderstood, so I copied the .lng file into the wrong folder. However, I just copied it into the correct folder, and two of the "combine episode" options are still blank. when I try to use TAPToDate, the newest version on the list is 5.1.

3) I will try to post some screen shots later today.
