From a user?s point of view, there are no big changes between the latest V4 and the current V5. While we know that not everything is covered, please tell us what you?re missing so that we can check if it is already on our TODO list.
My mistake. The only manual I have is for version 2.6. Is there a later edition in English?

I?ve never heard about that. Did you check that both ?1st subtitle language? and ?Hard of hearing? are set to off?
Again, my mistake. It turns out that it is the firmware I installed at the same time that is causing this. Still, if anyone knows how to defeat it (without changing firmware again) that would be nice...

I?m not sure if I understand you correctly. If you set the Look&Feel menu item 3 (Channel sorting) to ?LCN?, SE should display all channels in the same order as they appear in the Toppy?s native channel list. But as I do not have LCNs on my sat machine, it?s a bit hard to follow. Maybe you can provide a screenshot.
The order of the stations is the same as the native list. However, the NUMBERS are different. For example, my stations, natively, skip channel 4; SBS is logical channel 3, and Southern Cross TEN is the next one up at channel 5. In other words, there is no channel 4 in the list. I did not set them up this way; this is the default that the broadcasters transmit.
However, SmartEPG scans Southern Cross TEN as the station one up from 3, so numbers it as channel 4. This shifts all the others all the way up the list, and there are lots of other gaps making it worse.
When I switch channels in TV mode, I type, for example "11," and the infobox shows that I have switched to channel 11. However, when I set up a recording reservation, the same station shows as 10. This is a bit confusing (though moreso for my wife than for me).

Another strange behaviour, which hasn?t been mentioned in the past. Do you see these characters in the Toppy?s native timer menu? Does this happen with specific channels? Time for another screenshot?
It happens on every recording, from every station. It is visible in the native timer menu, in the infobox while recording, and even across an FTP transfer (though the character set is different on the PC).
For example, my recording of Supernatural on April 29 shows up as:
"SupernaturalÂöû<2013-04-29 20-34.mpg"
(though the inserted characters are different when viewed on the Topfield).
By the way, I thought I saw a setting to take out the dashes and just use YYYYMMDDHHMM, but I cannot find it again. Does that exist?
Thanks for all the help.
