Decode an old TV show
Decode an old TV show
I have an old topfield with a tv show from 2011, (not HD) but the show is encrypted, and my card is not valid for that channal where the show is recorded, is there any way to decode the show after I transferred the encrypted file to my PC ???

no, I don't think so that there is a chance to encrypt the file...

Oh, you can encrypt it further without problems , but decrypting stays nearly impossible.
Additionally, most channels change the keys more or less often, so knowing which key was valid 9 years ago is another point here.

Re: Decode an old TV show
The moderator on the australien topfield site said that there might be a TAP that may allow the file to be decrypted without a valid card, and that it can be downloaded via TAPtoDate, what is that and what is the name of the TAP?
EDIT: ohh now I see that the above writer has a link I Think to something, can someone explain that in English please

Re: Decode an old TV show
There is a TAP that can create an unencrypted recording by copying the encrpyted recording. But this still needs a working subscription. If you can't play it back, there is no way to decrypt it on the Toppy. For most TV providers, the times of hacked smart cards is long over.
Re: Decode an old TV show
I have a working subscription, but the show is recorded on Swedish TV3 standard definition resolution (PAL) in the year 2011, but now the TV3 SD dont exist any more at all, they have replaced it with TV3 HD, so what does that mean then?

Let's reduce it to a minimum: if you can't play it, then you can delete it.
Re: Decode an old TV show
But what good would that TAP make? you can make an unencrypted recording with the Topfield without that TAPFireBird hat geschrieben: ↑Di 29. So there is no way of decrypting a file with some PC software? they have successfully cracked DVD, blu-ray, UHD blu-ray and so on

Re: Decode an old TV show
Sometimes the receiver makes an encrypted recording even though the card is inserted. That TAP helps to decrypt these recordings in the short time until the recording can no longer be decrypted (hours to weeks, depending on the channel). That's the purpose of that TAP, and it does its task very reliably.
As for the other question: This board definitely isn't the place to discuss that topic. There are other places where such questions are discussed. For most recordings, it is easier to wait for it to be shown again, or find it somewhere else. Sometimes the channel provider even offers shows to be available on the internet for some time.
