The danish DVB-T net startet sending this spring and there have been problems with dvb-subtitles from a great deal of receivers since - and the Toppy is one of them

The national danish provider of dvb-t broadcasting DIGI-TV is aware of the problems that some dvb-t receivers have with decoding the dvb-subtitles accurate, and offer support to help the manufactors correct their firmware.

On the Toppy the problem is most significant on "TV2" where subtitles appear without background colour and are hard to read because of misread information on transparency and colour - and subtitles stay on screen to long.

A lot of the major manufactors have made firmware updates to secure accurate subtitling according to the dvb-standard, but Topfield is either not aware of the bug or not regarding it as a serious problem - but hte Toppy is not working according to the DVB-standards.

Can anyone else report fawlty subtitles - or is it only Denmark that use DVB-subtitling to the limit....?

The problem is solved by the firmware update 060912!
