Achso. T2P schaltet 10 Sekunden vor dem Start eines Timers um. Da es zu dem Zeitpunkt auch den Sender auf T1 "irgendwo hin" schaltet, sollte sich auf jeden Fall auf dem Fernseher etwas tun.

Es gibt einen australischen User, der sein Tuner1-Problem mit der Heißluftpistole gefixt hat, daher die Annahme. Klar, wir wissen noch zu wenig über das Problem.

Did that Australian user fixed the problem by heating the CPU with heat gun (or some other component), and if CPU do you know if he removed the heat sink during operation (because it seems to be glued so there is always need to reattach it with suitable tape or glue if removed once)?
I've been considering to try heating CPU myself but since this patch, I've been waiting because that is always uncharted territory and things can go terribly wrong and usually reflowing with heat gun trick is not permanent - I used to do that for my PS3 and it would work for few months until procedure needed to repeat. I guess eventually soldering get in to state where that won't help. But anyway, I'm interested. Is there discussion somewhere, could you post a link?

Die Meldung lautet ja auch nicht "Kein Signal" wie bei Empfangsproblemen, sondern "Kein Programm oder verschlüsselt"...

Mein Problem ist das der Topf ARD und ZDF die auf P1 und 2 stehen beim Scan mit 0% abschließt! Also müßte ich einen weg finden, dass der Topf 3 Minuten vor dem Scan an geht und an bleibt ohne den Scan zu verschieben. Oder ich hole einen anderen Topf aus der Schublade.

Hab ich zwar hier schon mal geschrieben, aber vielleicht hast Du's überlesen: Probiere mal das TAP "StartConfig" aus, vielleicht hilft das bei Deinem speziellen Problem.

Das TAP stellt auf dem Toppi beim Ausschalten vor dem Herunterfahren einen in der .ini definierten Kanal und Tuner (z.B. Prog. 1 auf Tuner 2) ein, so dass er beim nächsten Start definiert mit diesem Programm auf diesem Tuner "hochkommt". Der EPG-Scan erfolgt dann auf diesem Tuner und läuft - bei mir jedenfalls - problemlos durch. Tuner2Patch agiert ja im Vorfeld einer Aufnahme und kann daher beim SE-Scan nicht helfen - das schrieb FireBird auch schon mal so.

Du hast in der letzte Zeit nicht viel Glück mit Deinen Töpfen. Ich kann ja noch das eine oder andere Feature in T2P einbauen, aber hast Du das StartConfig einmal ausprobiert?

Thanks. I browsed thru thread quickly and looked to me like he needed to redo reflow very soon but after second time it has been working, he was talking about using some fluid too. Anyway definitely looks what my hunch said to me after I tried to fix my PSU with no help on tuner problem. As far as I know this Toppy is also so new that it is using lead free soldering. Those are notorious because soldering are not "flexible" and repeated heat and cold cycles will crack them open at some point, or something like that. Just what is said in the link I posted about reballing.

Obviously that person did process with heat sink on but I did not quite get how he wrapped heat sink in foil but what part he did heat exactly, and if I understood correctly he used a blow torch (flame?) and 2 minutes, that's pretty long. Anyway if I remember correctly what I did to my PS3 was that I wrapped mainboard surface with tin foil and cut opening for CPU and then heated it gradually from top and bottom of the mainboard and increased heat towards end and then mostly heated top of the CPU. This is faint memory and from years ago. Again this procedure is very ghetto way to try fix things and it can easily go wrong, so do not try it unless you are prepared to possibility that it can kill the unit. Also if you heat it with heat gun parts around CPU will get hot too and it is always possible that some parts get knocked off from their position or even short some part, so it should not be flipped or tilted during that. Best way would be to find company that has right equipment and knowledge to do this and it would be pretty permanently fixed. This heat gun trick will not last forever.

With StartConfig.tap does it set to tuner 2 when you power Toppy off from remote power button, or when scheduled recording ends and it automatically powers off? I mean does power off have to be done by StartConfig.tap or does it work background automatically?I've been using T2P with success (mostly) but nightly EPG scan cannot work with it since that is P-timer.

I'm not sure too but if it really was a torch, he is lucky that his Toppy is working at all. Normally one need a heat gun or reflow workstation and not only heat the part but also the board around the part. Otherwise there will be even more mechanical stress.

Correct. This should be the last thing to try.

Ich muss es also nicht ausprobieren? Mein Gefühl sagt mir, es schaltet auch beim Shutdown nach einer Aufnahme um - aber ganz sicher bin ich nicht.

Brauchst Du nicht und laut Code passiert die Umschaltung bei jeder Art von Shutdown.

Yeah, I read about that fluxing when I repaired my PS3 but I was too lazy to get any but it worked that way too but not permanently, which I undestood was often also problem when it was done correctly with flux. Using heat gun is too off the specs reflow that it is pure luck if it gets fixed properly.

I think heat gun is better. I used one of those cheap heat guns with nozzle to better guide heat to small area.

I probably will not try this if I get tap to work with warm up on all situations. It would be best to have it done at some professional shop that has suitable gear for that but they are pretty rare and not likely very cheap if you can find any. But obviously that would be pretty long term fix, probably last longer than some other part that will fail next.

I watched similar videos when I learned reflowing my PS3. It looks so damn easy when professionals do it.

Bei diesem (scheinbar thermischen) Fehler kann ich mir das nicht vorstellen. Andererseits interessant, dass sie sich in relativ kurzer Zeit häufen.

I believe EU regulations where they banned use of leaded solder in consumer electronics is the root cause. Especially in the beginning many manufacturers had problem with lead free solderings and I guess it is a little bit a feature of that solder that they will not last as well as leaded solderings.

Mit StartConfig läuft der EPG Scan jetzt sauber. T2Patch sorgt für ein vorhandenes Signal auf T1 beim aufnehmen.
