Uk Oz Surfer 11a on 5500 pvr

hello ,

sorry i don't speak german .

i have 5500 pvr with june 05 fw .

yesterday i loaded (Uk Oz Surfer 11a) tap and it was great and all the functions worked perfectly except one function which is using numbers to change the pip channel ..
for example pressing 13 should change the pip channel to 13 which in my case didn't work .

so please if anybody had used this tap please tell me if this function worked or not (specially 5500 pvr owners ) .

The UK Oz Surfer TAP is not widely-used by German Toppy owners. Better to ask at the UK Topfield Forum or Australian Topfield Forum

i did , but the problem is that none of them have 5500 pvr .
i need 5500 owners to try this tap because non of the british or austaralians had reported this problem .

I could imagine that the problem is that in UK and Australia the logical channel number (LCN) is used for the numbering. We use a numbering according to the internal memory presets.
So if you enter a channel number it could be interpreted as a LCN.
Using satellite channels this LCN is always 0.

happy i agree with u , i think it has something to do with lcn , but do u think that there is a solution for this problem ?

did use this tap before ?
if yes did u face the same problem ?
if u didn't use it before do u mind using it and tell me if u face the same problem specially that u have 5500 pvr .

I've been using it for a year and haven't found a solution to the LCN but I haven't checked to see if you can set LCNs using vega.
I found that it crashed when I used logos so I don't have any logos on my installation.

thanks ictag , u can set logos according to channel names rather than lcns it worked for me .

is there any other tap that have the same functions and work on 5500 pvr ?

Hi,

it might be worth contacting the author of that tap.
My guess would be that it's not a big issue to change the tap from lcn to (optional) channel number support.

the new tap is exactly the same as the old one , the only difference is that it will enable us 5000 and 5500 pvr owners to go to a specific pip channel by entering it's number (which is a great thing ) because the old tap was designed for logical channel number (lcn ) which our receivers don't support .

the new 12a version will have this feature officially , but the author had send me the test version of the new tap so i can test it and give him the feedback . and it works 100 %

i am using the logos without any problems , it seems that the makelogos.tap that is provided uk oz surfer is corrupted or something and it was crashing so then i used the makelogos.tap which was provided with uk timers tap and it worked perfectly , so i suggest u try this one , but u have to set the logos according to channel names not channel numbers .
