Personally, I haven't had any problems with the latest (beta 7) version in the UK :-). That's great.

However, some UK users have not been able to get Filer to even start - simply because they have "lots" of files on their 400GB hard disks!
Yes, I have read in UK-forum
I wonder if Filer can display a "graceful" message about running-out-of-memory
If we know what the problem is, we can display a message or fix the problem.
But we don't have any idea, yet.
Maybe I have to put 2000 MP3s on my receiver?
It could also optionally (via a user selected option on the screen) ignore (filter out) a certain class of files/logos, e.g. "MP3 files will be ignored", or "Logos will not be displayed for picture files" etc etc. You get my drift. This way people can still use Filer albeit not fully!
The channel-logos only are loaded if present (and they are not using that much memory).
The symbols are not switched on as standard. But even if, they are not using much memory, also.
I don't know what the problem can be.
But they can turn on OSDDebugging on tht screen so they can see whats going on!
After the first start (even if it crashes) the filer.ini has been created in "/ProgramFiles".
They have to edit the column (one of the last) "OSDDebug" and set it to "2" or "3" or "4".
Maybe this helps to identify where it hangs up.
As a second alternative, I can give them a version without MP3-support to check if it's working, then.
