Decoding

Dear all.

I have followed the threads about the problems in decoding of "ROME" on the German channels. The problem of decoding is something that has been ongoing but left aside. The Sfastcopy TAP has been a quite good solution but not even that could solve the problem with ROME at the Scandinavian CANAL +.
Why are we not putting preasure on TF to solve this issue......or is it something that cannot be solved.
I dont want to be rude, but it is a fact that the moderators for this forum ( and the old one) get very quiet when this topic or rather issue comes up.

I have already stated that the TF 5500 is a very good reciever but totally useless if you only can record but not play back.

Why dont we finally put this serious issue on the table!!

perhaps the reaons that there's no answer here is that this is already discussed lengthly in the German thread where you already commented. I think most of us agree that this is some problem caused by the topfield. As I wrote in the thread, I can reproduce it pretty easily.
What I do not understand is that you offend the moderors here, I think the contact to Corea does not seem to be as good nowadays as it was and the mods do nothing else than try to help.
What everybody tries in the other thread is to find some explanation for the problems and find workarounds with the current firmware. This makes probably more sense than to wait for a solution from Corea.

The moderators are private persons. They don’t work for Topfield nor is it their job to put pressure on anyone, except he/she misbehaves in the forum.

As far as I know this is an official TF forum and it is created to change and try to find solutions to problems. What I am taking up is a MAJOR problem in functionality and thats a fact.
I´m not offending anyone only presenting facts. I have since I became a member in 2004 taken this issue up several times. The moderators are to me contact persons and has opnely said that they will take this on........and........

This new site is an official site for TF as far as I know and I will continue to take this up. I think you have a problem IF you say that this is about offending some one. Again Im talking about a major problem, your answer is again an excuse instead of an answer.

As you may have noticed, this is a forum - although it is hosted by Topfield Europe it seems that there are very few (or no) officials of the company in here. The moderators do have contacts to Topfield, but nowadays ist seems that there is almost no response from the officials or developers.

The moderators as well as all other members are trying to help everyone - your issue is already discussed in many aspects, but we can see that this seems to be ignored by the firmware developers - like some other problems as well.

You are free to send an eMail directly to the officials at Topfield (either Europe or Korea), maybe that's the only way to get some movement in this matter...

Thanks for the nice answer.

I have tried several times to highlight this issue in Korea without any success. The frustration from my side is the following. As long as you are dealing with non crypted channels the device is OK.

Lately it seems that for instance the channels like Canal +, Canal FILM 1.2.3 (Scandinavian Canal Digital) are either putting a worm in the films i.e the film stops somewhere during the playback or it doesn´t work at all. All of these issues where possible to solve with Sfastcopy before.


I respect all the members that are working with different TAPS in order to develop the product, but at the same time I get irritated when we are lifting the TF to the skyes as the best box when it has this major fault.

Why dont we (as I stated before) try top put this issue on the table once and for all in the forum.
