Autogenerated SWAT Timers 2h wrong
Entschuldigung, aber mein Deutch is sehr slecht ;-). Trying 3PG v1.24 in Sweden and love it - except for one thing. When 3PG automatic updates the EPG ones a day and generates SWAT timers, the timers get 2h too early (Greenwhich time). In Sweden we now are 2h from Greenwhich time. If I do a manual scan for EPG updates from 3PG menu on all transponders the EPG are right again.
Right now I have to update the EPG manual every day and manual do SWAT and create the timers.
And we non-German could really use an English version of the manual. Dont really understand the beaty of the SWAT timer weighting system withm minus and plus - seems smart in some way - or?!?
Could use some help of you guys!

Welcome in the forum
The error is not at 3PG, but because of the attitude of the clock of your Receiver. This should be so adjusted:
Mode:Auto
Time Offset: 02:00 (example for Germany)
GMT Collcction: Normal
Daylight Saving-Time : on

How does this explain that the time is correct when the scan is performed manually?
I was thinking that maybe the GMT bug could be responsible, but I am not exactly sure how to fix it. Would it be sufficient to start QuickTimer before 3PG? Another possible reason I could think of is that a channel with a maladjusted clock is used for GMT collection. What are your current time settings?
The weighing system of SWATs works as follows:

The weighing system of SWATs works as follows:
- Each search expression in a SWAT can be assigned a weight between -99 and 99.
- The weights of all search expressions which match an event are added.
- If the total of the weights exceeds 49, a timer is generated for the event.
- If you want an expression to match only part of title or description, you need to use wildcards.

Thanks! I'll try that - and thanks for the weighing explanation.
Hmm - perhaps v.1.24 is buggy - all my SWAT definitions was crashed and looked like shit today. Must rebuild them again...

TV-Junkie - tried your settings and every other combination I could imagina on the settings, but when I have change on the 3PG meny on EPG Collection to "AUS" the 3PG collects the EPG thru Topfields API and the times get right, but when 3PG collects the EPG directly from the .rec file its at GMT time for me.
I'm having a Topfield TF5000PVRT with firmware 3.21. Perhaps 3PG is not compatible with the Swedish firmware. Could be easily fixed with a new option in 3PG 1.25 - EPG time collection compensation ;-). I hope it's possible to add that option.

You know that you can switch 3PG to English?
EPG Collection to "AUS"
It probably is more of a problem with the transport stream. Maybe there are differences in the way, the time and time offset are transmitted in the service information tables.
Perhaps 3PG is not compatible with the Swedish firmware.

Topfield TF5000PVRT is a terrestrial reciever - DVB-T - but the transport stream should be likely. Maybe the maker of 3PG haven't tested that possibility. If there is any way a .rec-file from me can contribute to enhancing this great software I happily send it.
I see four possible solutions/workarounds:
1 - Enhance 3PG to be able to handle this automatically
2 - A workaround in 3pg options, where you can adjust +-hours to the collected EPG
3 - Enhance macro.tap to a "timedmacro.tap" - where you can send the keystrokes for manuall scan of EPG and then create SWAT-timers manually. "Timedmacro.tap" could be very useful for automating other things as well. Who will add this functionality to macro.tap (I think the source is available on the net).
4 - Use another software for creating the timers - as UK Auto Scheduler
I like 3pg so I want to keep for now, so I started to use option 4 to create the timers - works well
Been in contact with John De Angelis (j_de_angelis@hotmail.com) - the maker of macro.tap and anyone wants to continue the work with tap he'll contribute with hes latest sourcecode because he no longer owns a topfield 5000.
Any other suggestions?

If I understood everything you wrote, the problem only occurs during automatic recorder scan (UNO or DUO?). If you switch the recorder scan off or if you run the (recorder) scan manually, everything is working fine. If this is the case, you just need to switch the option Recorder Scan off. Then 3PG will use the TAP API to scan the EPG. The scan will still be performed automatically including the creation of timers. It only takes longer and does not pick up all the details.
Which other TAPs are running on your PVR and what is the start order? I am still not convinced, that the GMT bug is not part of the problem.
If you are looking for an automation TAP, you might want to have a look at BootMenu (link in my signature). In conjunction with the Macro TAP, you should be able to automate almost anything.

No other taps are running - just 3PG. Now I'm at 3.25 with no improvement. The EPG are still get 2h off when in UNO or DUO mode. When I set it to off (instead of UNO/DUO) the EPG are OK when i run the scan manually (pressed blue button when showing the SWATs).
It would be OK to get the EPG with the option set to off (instead of UNO/DUO), but I can't get 3PG to reliable wake up at the programmed time and do the scan of EPGs and create timers from SWAT. Most times it doesn't work (like 9 of 10).
Is there a trick to get the automic scan working? Have tried several ways like:
- Having the TF power down - but it didnt wake up
- Having the TF running - and when the 3PG programmed time for EPG scan comes - nothing happens
- Have one recording running - but when the 3PG programmed time comes nothing happens.
Is there a startup bug in 3PG, am I missing something or could it be incompatible with my TF5000 PVRT with firmware 3.21?
I could alway use UKAS which works perfect, but I like 3PG much more...

As "Der Graue" wrote, 3PG works fine on his PVRT. But I have no idea which firmware to recommend. I take it that you created a wakeup timer for 3PG (or else the automatic scan would never have worked). Could there be a problem with your receiver's clock? Does it always show the correct time? Do all programmed recordings start? The PVR should at least start up when it is powered down, since this is managed by a wakeup timer and not under control of 3PG.
Have you tried disconnecting your receiver from the mains for one or two minutes? This will reset the front panel processor which is responsible for waking the receiver.
Cheers,

@TV-Junkie (Kurzfassung): Beim Grauen geht es auf dem PVRT. Firmware kenn ich mich nicht mit aus. Wecktimer angelegt?

>I take it that you created a wakeup timer for 3PG (or else the automatic scan would never have worked).
Is there a "special" 3PG wakeup timer? And how do you create it?
>Could there be a problem with your receiver's clock? Does it always show the correct time?
No - it always is on time - and when I have tried other EPG-taps (like Jag and UKAS) there is no problem with the clock, they are reading the EPG and create timers which then ontime starts the recording. It's just 3PG who messes with me. I still only have 3PG installed and now manually runs the EPG-scan och creation of the timers from SWAT twice a day. Due how the EPG is transmitted in Sweden (max 24h EPG info per channel) the ideal would be to do a 3PG EPG SWAT-scan 2-3 times a day. Is it possible?
>Do all programmed recordings start?
Yepp - with the current fw all timers starts perfect and records as expected.
>The PVR should at least start up when it is powered down, since this is managed by a wakeup timer and not under control of 3PG.
It wakes up if a recording is programmed, but I expected the PVR to wakeup when its time for 3PG to scan the EPG - like 03.00 in the morning. JAG did that automatically and created it's own timer to wake up for the scan. Doesnt 3PG do the same?
If someone who is talented in creation of TAPs could strip som code from timer.tap and make it possible to store a keyboard macro as a file it would solve my problem. Then I could wake up EPG, do a scan, press 7 and then the blue button... There is aTAP (dont remember which) which you can programme to run other TAPs and certain times daily/weekly etc.

Thanks Martin!
Now 3PG rocks! For us who doesn't understand the "3PG German Instruction Book" its hard to find out how it works. Perhaps thats why 3PG is not so popular in Sweden (and perhaps other countires as well).
The Big complain which still doesnt work - "2h wrong on SWAT Timers" - I now have your workaround which works good.
A minor problem is that the Swedish DVB-T broadcaster (Boxer) only sends 24h EPG free of charge for all TV-channels transmitted in Sweden. Thats why it would be nice if there is is a way to get 3PG to do it's scan&SWAT twice a day - otherwize it's some problematic to get the recordings at the time the scan runs. I tried to create two 3PG timers, but 3PG only runs at the time chosen in the configuration menu. Is there another way? Or perhaps that can be an enhacement for 1.26 ;-).
Another enhacement for 3PG is an option from UKAS, where you can choose not to record the same program more than once. Would be nice to have in 3PG, or is it there already?

Hi marpeto,
you have a TF 5000 PVRT, therefore you have only one cable to your receiver!? Then you must make IMHO the 3PG-Scan with Tuner ConnectionType: Loop Through (You have connected Tuner1+2 with a cable?)
If the scan (for example the Timer has the time: 6:00-6:24) is running, in this time is not allowed to have an other Timer. If an other Timer is here, the Scan does'nt run! I had the same problem!
Therefore would be 1 Scan-Timer enough for 24-hour-EPG?!
I hope, all is correctly!

No. Since with terrestrial receivers, all channels can be received at once (there is no such thing as polarization or different bands), you may set the connection type to separate.FranzKM hat geschrieben:Then you must make IMHO the 3PG-Scan with Tuner ConnectionType: Loop Through (You have connected Tuner1+2 with a cable?)
I am still not sure, under which circumstances you are having problems with the EPG times. Is it only when running an automatic recorder scan?
I could think of one way to run two scans a day. It involves using the BootMenu TAP. You would need to put BootMenu in the Auto Start folder and remove 3PG from it. Then you would set up BootMenu to start 3PG for you. Now, you would need to create two 3PG.ini files - one for each scan. You could get them by copying one and then just modifying the scan time. You would save the two configurations with different names and have BootMenu copy them to 3PG.ini before 3PG is started depending on the time of day.
The necessary BootMenu.cmd might look as follows:
Code: Alles auswählen
menu 0
item normal
log manual boot
start 3PG
item timer, 04:55-05:15
log nightly 3PG scan
copy 3PG-nightly.ini : 3PG.ini
sleep 30
start 3PG
item timer, 11:55-12:15
log daily 3PG scan
copy 3PG-daily.ini : 3PG.ini
sleep 30
start 3PG
item timer
log timer boot
start 3PG
item emergency
log no TAPs started due to Toppy reboot
endmenu
Don't scold me if the BootMenu.cmd does not work without modifications. I did not test it.
