3PG 1.29 beta 5

I have just discovered this Tap and I am running it on a Topfield 5000 MP (OZ PVR). I have been able to get this same version up and running. However, no matter how I try I am unable to get the Logos to display. Everything else seems to be fine. Have a need for an answer to a couple of questions.

1. How do you get the timed scan to collect the EPG data at the set time as per the appropriate Glumpf 1 p-age screen #6 item?
2. I have used the recommended utility to create .ibl logo files. How do you:
a. ensure that they load?
b. match the respective channels in my service list (10 in all) from 5 different transponders? Each transponder here send out its own FTA EPG.

I have tried the following File structure:
the Tap and the english language file in the Program Folder.
Created a ChannelLogos folder in that same folder which contained the ibl logos, the Tap when starting after having deleted the Image file (and restarting the Tap) was looking for the Logos, but did not find or load any. Also I tried a TV folder for the .ibl logos in the ChannelLogos folder, but found a similar result no load.

Have been using the English Guide mentioned in this topic.

Is there any other documentation available in English or even German.

have joined the German Topfield Forum, but that is heavy going given that my German translations are best served by Google's translation service.

I have downloaded the latest version but have yet to try it.

ATM I use JustEPG to manage my EPG, but I must admit I have been most impressed with 3PG in the couple of days I have been using it. It seems to harvest the FTA guide entries rather rapidly I note.

3PG went looking for the logos on Glumpf 8, but a message came up on screen "No logos found"

I had deleted the image file and restarted the Tap as suggested.

Any ideas. Should they be .png format as you mentioned for that version 1.28 of the Tap.

sbsone.ibl is correct. 50x30 Pixel

I think you must have a folder with /TV and a folder with /Radio. One alone is not good!?
Delete the 3PG.img.
Maybe are the settings #35 - Logp & Channel-No, #36 - ChannelLogos incorrect!?

Yes I have both those folders , the logos are 50x 30, the settings @ #35 and # 36 are correct.
I have deleted the 3PG image file and quit and restarted the TAP.
The only thing I can think of is at the moment I have not tuned any radio services from the transponders and I do not have any .ibl files in the /radio folder.

It should work without radio logos. When I tested my skins I worked with a limited number of 14 TV logos and no radio logos. The only idea I can currently come up with is that there might be something wrong with the capitalization of your directory names.

P.S./b] I just had a quick look at the (German) guide. This is what it says about prerequisites for successful display of channel logos:

The full path name for the channel logos is

• /ProgramFiles/ChannelLogos/TV/*.ibl

(Caution! File and directory names are case sensitive!)

The names of the logo files (*.ibl) must match the channel names and must not contain spaces, capital letters or special characters!

Examples:

• Das Erste >> daserste.ibl
• Pro Sieben >> prosieben.ibl
• RTL II >> rtlii.ibl
• Kabel eins >> kabeleins.ibl
• NDR Fernsehen >> ndrfernsehen.ibl
• SAT 1-Austria >> sat1austria.ibl

The following characters may be used in logo names:

• abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789äöüß+-

(The minus - will be ignored by 3PG.)

When 3PG loads it says it is version 1.18, and if I look at the TAP file with notepad it says it is version 1.18. If I check the 1.29beta tap file with notepad it says it is 1.29. Could I have the wrong Tap file?

Still cannot get the logos to load at all.

Where did you get it from? I just had a look in the 1.28 TAP file. It contains the correct version number. Some other things should not work, like your language files not being picked up if you moved them to a 3PG sub-folder of ProgramFiles, but the logos should load.

Maybe you should upgrade to 1.26. It is pretty recent and known to run reliably. If there were problems with logos in 1.18, there is probably no one around who can still remember.

It is attached to the first post in [thread=23257]this thread[/thread]. With 1.26, there is no 3PG sub-directory. The language files and skins need to be in the ProgramFiles directory.

Thanks for the links to 1.26. All loaded onto the Toppy and logos all displaying well. problem was the naming convention for the .ibl's. I was using abc1.ibl the same as the service name. instead of 3PG_abc1.ibl. Once I used the correct filenames, it was all good. Thanks to all who assisted.

Great Tap there and would recommend to all.

Edit That file naming convention should have been 3PG-abc1.ibl.

Also yesterday the EPG scan was set for 1600 AEDST. The Toppy was frozen and would not respond to keypresses at about 2000. Powered off and all was good again. Should I set the Toppy to shutdown after the scan. I am not using the recorder scan. A manual scan seems to complete OK.

Any ideas

3PG is known to freeze the Toppy if the channel lists are not identical. Have you copied them to make sure? Depending on which other TAPs you are using, the Toppy could also be running out of memory.

I would only not set the Toppy to shut down after the scan if it were running 24/7, but if it freezes, it won't shut down anyway.

Is there a reason why you are not using the recorder scan? It is a lot faster and picks up more information, too.
