Here's another link where I've put the images into a 480x320 frame to show you the images in actual size on an iphone (make sure your browser is at 100%) - so you can see the size of the buttonbar on the retina image.

Also I don't think there is any payoff in supporting the retina on ipad3 as native resolution from the toppy's osd is 720x576 which I display 1:1 using the standard ipad resolution of 1024x768 and there is still plenty of space for the remote control.

Yes you are right John,
the current version of the app looks as good as the image of the new Retina iPhone version.

OK - last chance for responses: I will make the Retina resolution the standard for iPhone 4, 4s and following. iPad, iPhone 3 and earlier, and iPod will stay the same. If anyone objects please let me know asap.

Ok - I have submitted the new version to the App Store - it can take up to 2 weeks for it to appear though.

I have another favour to ask my German speaking friends - I want to add a German based description to the App Store for my app as many people obviously do not speak English ... But my German is non-existant. If someone has any time over the next week could they please have a go at translating the following?

iTMSRemote for Topfield is an IOS client for the TMSRemote TAP that runs on the HD Topfield PVRs, mostly found in Australia and Europe. This DOES NOT work with the SD Topfields like the 5000, 6000, nor with the first generation HD machines that did not support TAPs (like the 7700, 7000, 7100pvrt etc.)

A pre-requisite for this app is that your PVR is connected to your home network.

For this app to work you will first need to download and install the TMSRemote TAP onto the Topfield box (Download the TMSRemote TAP from here: http://www.topfield.de/files/Firebird/TMSRemote.zip)

Once TMSRemote is setup and running, run the iTMSRemote app and select the Settings button and enter your PVR's address, and the TMSRemote port (1413 by default), password (if any). Then select the Play/Connect button.

Latest Version Changes:

- Native GUI for Settings (fixed to portrait)
- iCloud support - share settings between devices. How it works: if the Use Cloud setting is on, and there's a newer version in the Cloud then the Settings icon will turn blue. Then press the blue settings icon and answer Yes to get the iCloud settings, No to reject them or Cancel to continue without deciding - the settings icon will remain blue reminding you to decide in the future.

Ob es das wert ist must Du selber wissen. Die App macht genau das, was man von Ihr erwartet. Man kann wenn das TMSRemote TAP auf den TOPF läuft den TOPFIELD Fernbedienen.

Die zweite APP brauchst Du nicht probieren. Die ist für ein anderes TOPFIELD Modell, welches es IMHO in Europa nicht gibt.

Nutze es regelmäßig auf dem iPad und häufig von unterwegs, da ist es für mich unverzichtbar.

Please hold off on any more purchases. As I have enough money from those who have already bought the app so that I can continue for another year of licenses, I now want to make both versions free. It will take a few days for it to make it to the stores.

And yes thanks to all who contributed and especially FireBird for making his TMSRemote TAP, and the client source code available.

I am using a CRP 2401 which uses a slightly different remote than the three that are implemented. Would it be possible to implement this remote also?

since christmas i use the app on my ipad4. there i have sometimes the problem that the app doesn't react any more but it still has contact to the receiver (it is not possible to start a connection from my pc) in that case i have to switch off the ipad and reboot it!
